Opening Poem
Let me open your eyes,
The twitching of the lids as I gaze at the iris,
The beauty in its uniqueness, its pattern, my reflection
Let me open your eyes,
And see the veins hugging tightly, like roots
The curious river of strings that make me lean closer
Let me open your eyes,
I want to see what you see,
I want to know you better,
I want to live like you for a day,
I want us to become one…
Because perhaps by then,
The egg in which I live in, will finally crack.
There’s something so interesting about being able to hear about another’s life, how the light glimmers in their eyes at their achievements or even the flickering as they suspect why I even asked, feeling small and watched. Sometimes they would just sit quietly…saying nothing…and that would be enough for me. I assume I approach people with these questions about themselves, even if they are obvious, because I have a strong sense of curiosity, a creative measure that I want to be the one to help express their story. Make them feel that they are someone, that they have a tale worth knowing about.
Out of all the stories I’ve heard, all of them are always something I’m fascinated by, because even if you live in a small town by a barn, that’s still a life I’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing, and its a life I wish I could see. But I want to see it from your eyes, I want to see what you see…but until I can do that, I only choose to write about it, collect your words and take them as truth as create a beauty in words for you.
I wish to open your perspective, so you can see that you are someone, someone who can either choose to walk through life blindly, risk free, or to face all the opportunities surrounding them and risk it. Risk the outcome, good or bad, that depends on how you approach it. That is the beauty of The Fountain Of Infinite Opportunities. (stay tuned for that short piece soon :))
Can’t wait to read, “The Fountain Of Infinite Opportunities.” I adored your opening poem!
